Academics

All students are encouraged to work hard and try their best. We encourage good study habits at school and at home. It is our goal to help each student achieve the highest level of their capabilities. All students are served on an individual basis. Their academic projections are made according to that student's achievement prior to enrollment with GNCS. Individualized testing will be determined based upon each student's needs. GNCS will make recommendations, but the parent/guardian will make the final decision.

Grading Scale:

  • A. 93-100

  • B. 85-92

  • C. 75-84

  • D. 70-74

  • F. 0-69

Honor Roll:

Recognition for academic achievement is awarded using an honor roll system with the following criteria:

  • Principal's Honor Roll - All grades must be A- (93%) or better.

  • Honor Roll - All grades must be a B(85%) or better and a grade average of B+(90%) must be maintained.

Note: Two (2) "uncooperative attitude/disruptive behavior" comments will eliminate a student from honors distinction.

Curriculum:

GNCS uses the Alpha Omega Life Pacs along with other supplemental material including Horizon and Saxon. This is an individual based curriculum so that each student can work at their own pace. Testing will take place before the school year to make sure students are receiving proper placement. All of our curriculum is presented with a Biblical worldview. Bible is also included in our daily curriculum.

ACT Testing:

In preparation for the next step in the student academic journey, GNCS requires all junior and senior students participate in ACT testing. Location and fees will be the responsibility of the parent.
